DoorDash Reveals What We Eat On Super Bowl Sunday

Football fans don’t want to miss a second of the action when the Big Game is on, so what do they do when they get hangry on Super Bowl Sunday? Order DoorDash, of course. A new report from the delivery company reveals that they had more than 5.7-million orders placed across the country on the day of the Big Game last year and here’s what people craved most.

On Super Bowl Sunday 2025, DoorDash peaked during pre-game with about 155 orders per second.

  • Chicken wings were the most ordered dish of the day, as more than 639-thousand orders for restaurant wings were placed, nearly 25% more than any other day.
  • At an estimated six wings per order, that’s over 3.8-million wings.
  • Bone-in wings were the clear winner, with 44 states placing more orders for those than boneless wings on the Big Game day.
  • Classic buffalo flavor was the top choice in 39 states, while nine states preferred theirs plain.
  • Pizza was the second most popular order during Super Bowl Sunday last year, with more than 637-thousand orders placed on DoorDash. That’s enough to feed a sold-out Levi’s Stadium crowd almost 10 times.
  • Pepperoni was the favorite topping in 39 states, while 11 states went for classic cheese.
  • When it came to appetizers, loaded fries were the number one order in 34 states nationwide.
  • Dumplings were the most popular order in 10 states, while egg rolls and spring rolls were the number one choice in four states.
  • It was also the number one day of the year for guacamole orders from grocery stores, and finger foods were popular, too. Orders for Lit’l Smokies spiked more than 3,600% and Tostitos Scoops orders jumped by 2,300%.
  • To wash all that down, Americans ordered a lot of beer. Orders for popular brands skyrocketed, including Coors Light (up 2,200%), Budweiser (up 1,600%), and Michelob Ultra (up 1,500%), compared to an average day.
  • With so many orders coming in on Super Bowl Sunday, DoorDash’s pro tip is to place yours by 4:30p.m. ET to beat the crowd and get your food before the coin toss.
