April 20th is coming up, which may seem like just another day to most of us, but for some it’s a pretty special day. The date, 4/20, is kind of an unofficial stoner holiday, and for those who indulge, the munchies are real, and DoorDash is revealing what they order most when those cravings hit.
According to their new Minchies Report, these were the top snacks, hemp products and restaurant orders from 4/20 last year.
- Hemp-derived product orders spiked by more than 40% on 4/20 compared to an average Sunday.
- Classic edibles were a big hit, with THC gummies and candy landing on over 40% of hemp-related product orders.
- Drinkable options are becoming more popular, with THC drinks appearing on 25% of orders and seltzers on more than 15%.
- It turns out, a lot of folks are battling cottonmouth on 4/20. Pedialyte Electrolytes Drink was the number one item purchased along with hemp products on DoorDash. Arnold Palmer Lite Half & Half Iced Tea Lemonade and Diet Coke orders also surged.
- Beyond hydration needs, snacks and comfort foods lead the munchies lineup. Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked Ice Cream was flying into carts with hemp orders, along with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, Chester’s Fries Flamin’ Hot Flavored Corn Snacks, and Maruchan Chicken Ramen Noodles.
- On the restaurant side, delivery orders nationwide spiked for CheezyBread, pizza, Munchkins Donut Holes, Epic Combo Beef & Bean Burritos, and Ghost Pepper Sandwiches.
- The most impressive order was an epic one from a customer who had $3,279 worth of sushi delivered on 4/20. A Chinese food feast totaling $3-thousand was the second biggest, followed by a massive $2,429 Halal grill order.⠀
