Let’s NOT Circle Back or Touch Base!

If you've ever been told to "circle back," "touch base," or "take it offline," Gen Z would like a word.

A new study found younger workers are ditching traditional corporate buzzwords in favor of plain English.

So that means "synergy" becomes "teamwork," "bandwidth" becomes "availability," and "touch base" becomes check in.

Researchers found "circle back" was the most complained-about office phrase, beating out classics like "synergy," "bandwidth," "touch base,” and "take this offline.”

Experts say younger workers prefers direct communication over corporate jargon. In other words, Gen Z doesn't want to "move the needle" or "boil the ocean." They'd rather just say what they mean.
